VIRTUAL EVENT – Join us for a presentation by Sharon Austin that examination of the social and political relationships among African Americans and people of black Caribbean descent. Other topics include Haitian political behavior, general African American political behavior, and the history and politics of black women. This program is a partnership between the Florida Humanities and the Lake Wales History Museum. Black Masculinity in Florida

Come celebrate the season at the Lake Wales History Museum!

Enjoy live holiday music by Geert D’hollander on the piano, food, drinks, holiday selfie station, photos with Santa, holiday trivia, and a hot chocolate bar. Free to the public, but we ask you please bring a gift or non-perishable food items, and we’ll donate them to the Lake Wales Care Center. Free with gift or non-perishable food item donation.

Pioneer Days Festival

presented by the Lake Wales History Museum

October 29 & 30, 2022

The Lake Wales History Museum will present the 45th Annual Pioneer Days Festival, which is a celebration of Lake Wales’ history and heritage. Located along the shores of Lake Wailes Park, the free community festival features a heritage village that includes dozens of historical demonstrations of pioneer camps and early American trades.
